Connecting Youngsters: CRACK Summer Camp
2014, Curator: Polash Chowdhury
Concept Note
The core idea of the summer camp is to facilitate young minds in exploring new grounds of creativity, exchanging their artistic journey and understanding with fellow young artists in the camp. This camp will engage emerging artists to experience the inter-connectedness of art practice with life and nature. It emphasizes on respectfully negotiating with the local culture and developing each participant’s art project(s) based on locally available materials.
It is open for all young, art loving, cultural-minded people of Bangladesh. It calls for artists in a broad sense from visual or conventional art media to the multidisciplinary periphery (poets, writers, journalists, singers or musicians, film makers and so on)
The camp is targeted to adventurous and enthusiastic young persons who can accept challenges to comfortable living.
People accustomed to luxurious suite and feasts are discouraged to join the CRACK Summer Camp. The camp is held in a rural setting where the food, accommodation and day-to-day experience is enjoyed by sharing common resources with fellow artists and community people.
